Pirate School: The SCIENCE of Pirates!

Friday, February 193:30—4:15 PMOnline

BEST FOR AGES 5-10

Mariners have pushed knowledge and technology forward ever since humans launched the first log raft, so who better the get your kids excited about science than a Pirate!?

Set in the comical and safe world of “Pirate School!” children ages 5-10 will become piratical citizen-scientists and be given the freedom to explore their science curiosity in a madcap and wholesome environment. Children will laugh and learn while participating in nautical-themed fun and creative-dramatic play. Each live-streamed session will include, but not be limited to interactive, real-world STEM-based activities, challenges, and crafts. There will be video breakouts, large-scale demonstrations and special guest visits from seafaring captains and scientists from (literally) across the globe.

“Pirate School!” is created, produced and performed by David Engel, who’s popular Arts In Education productions tour to major performing arts centers and festivals nationwide. Each session is led by the bumbling pirate professor Billy Bones, who lives to open children’s eyes and hearts to the natural wonders around them and has been described as a “...swashbuckling Mr. Rogers.”

Each weeks content is ripped directly from his popular touring show “Pirate School: The SCIENCE of Pirates!” and is designed to meet state-mandated guidelines for STEM, Life Skills and Character Education.
