One Hour, One Song: Voice Lesson for Kids

Tuesday, February 164:30—5:30 PMOnline

One Hour, One Song is an all-in-one singing lesson for kids aged 8-13 led by musician Melissa Wright (scroll down to learn more about her).

Kids will learn "Fight Song" by Rachel Platten

Class Experience

In this 60-minute class we will discuss how to take care of your voice, how to stretch and relax, how to breathe, and how to warm-up your voice. We will explore our voice with tongue-twisters, silly sounds, and fun breathing exercises!  We'll put everything to practice by singing "Cups" by Anna Kendrick.

This class will be "workshop style," where I will have students muted for the technique and warm-up portion of the class. Students will stay muted while I teach and sing through the song of the week. I will then unmute students for a chance to sing a "solo" part of the song if they are interested! I will close out the workshop with an opportunity for students to ask any questions that they may have.

Learning to sing has so many benefits. It allows you to connect more with your own body and voice, become aware of any tension you are holding, and express yourself! Learning vocal technique is wonderful for your singing voice and your speaking voice.

There is NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY to join in this class, though even experienced singers can find benefit from reviewing the basics and joining in a group class.

I am excited to sing with you!
