Learning to Draw, and Its Importance!

Saturday, July 62:30—4:30 PMMaker SpaceIn Person at Woburn Public Library45 Pleasant St., Woburn, MA, 01801

Yes, there is an Artistic Journey through learning in Art. In the basic visuals you must first learn to Draw! Many painters say, “I can’t draw, but I can paint!”. But they are really saying that they are still trying to draw, but sloshing around with a brush. Drawing also includes much of the ‘other’ mediums like sculpting and/or modeling.

Learning to draw properly is the first initial step in all of the visual arts and will lead you further into any of the various mediums that you prefer. Some like to stay at the drawing level and have made extraordinary accomplishments!

There are valuable lessons and rules to learn. Joseph will teach you the many and take you through each and every step that you will need to progress in this graphite medium, from simple pencil drawing through expressive realism. He will present all the different stylus forms, grounds, formatting, gesturing, tools, and additional materials you will need to make a work of art for any medium!

This class is open to adults and teens. All necessary materials will be provided.

Please note, this is a 4 part class. Each class is progressive, so when you register for the first class, you automatically will be registered to attend all the classes in this series. Attendees should expect to attend all or most sessions.

This program is sponsored by the Woburn Public Library Foundation.

Please note: When someone does not show up for a program they are registered for, they are taking away an opportunity for another member of the community. Patrons who are registered for an event they cannot attend are asked to cancel their registration at least 24 hours in advance. Failure to show up for programs two (2) times without notice will be grounds for being waitlisted for 30 days. Patrons who arrive 5 minutes or more after the program start time will be considered no-shows. They may be denied access after that time, and their spot may be given away to people on the waiting list.

Registration for this event has now closed.
