SQL (pronounced “ess-que-el”) stands for Structured Query Language. SQL is used to communicate with a database of information. SQL statements are used to perform tasks such as update data on a database, or retrieve data from a database. Some common relational database management systems that use SQL are: Oracle, Sybase, Microsoft SQL Server, Access, etc.

In this hands on workshop, you will learn the basics of SQL. Prior experience with programming languages is recommended but not required. There will be a 30 minute break from 11:30-12 pm.

Open to ages 16 and up.

Presented by Melody Friedenthal.

This program is sponsored by the Woburn Public Library Foundation.

Please note: When someone does not show up for a program they are registered for, they are taking away an opportunity for another member of the community. Patrons who are registered for an event they cannot attend are asked to cancel their registration at least 24 hours in advance. Failure to show up for programs two (2) times without notice will be grounds for being waitlisted for 30 days. Patrons who arrive 5 minutes or more after the program start time will be considered no-shows. They may be denied access after that time, and their spot may be given away to people on the waiting list.
