The rhythmic beats of Indian dances like Bharatanatyam will transport you to a realm where every step narrates tales of love, devotion, and mythology. Don’t miss this chance to experience the heartbeat of a nation.  Everyone will learn some steps and can enjoy the dancing to Indian moves.

About the presenter: Jasmine Shah, the visionary founder of Aangikam Dance Academy, has dedicated her life to promoting Indian culture through diverse dance styles in New England. Aangikam has flourished, now boasting over 200 students across multiple locations. Jasmine remains steadfast in her commitment to traditional Indian arts, teaching Bharatanatyam, Manipuri, Folk dances, and, in response to demand, Bollywood. She firmly believes that everyone can dance, even launching adult classes for mothers and grandmothers. Recognized as a top performer, she received the India New England Women of the Year award and a special honor for her contributions to the performing arts.

 

The Discover India Series is a program partnership between the Woburn Public Library and the India Association of Greater Boston (IAGB). This series explores India's rich culture and includes exciting forays into history, food, art and music.
