Otha leads "DrumToTheBeat! Drum Circle and Rhythm Events" with every educational level, from the youngest to the college level. His LibraryBEATS! Drum Circle and Rhythm events are Intergenerational and 100% participatory. In addition, he facilitates events in spaces of wellness and spirituality, for family or community celebrations, and for corporate team-building events.
Otha leads these fun and lively drum circle events from the deep belief that rhythm has the power to build community, promote well-being and healing, and create joy. He supports participants as they experience the importance of rhythm in all aspects of life and realize that "our heartbeat and breath are the rhythms of our soul and the pathway of our connection to everyone."
As a Social Justice Facilitator, Otha leads his signature "Drum2Talk: Rhythm, Relationship, Racism" workshop intensives where the participants find that thru rhythm and in-depth conversations, they encounter the means for the healing and transformation of racial conflict.
Otha has taught on the faculties of several schools in New England. In addition to teaching college courses on Rhythm Based Creativity and Communication, Music of the Harlem Renaissance, General Music Theory, and Jazz History, he has given many concerts as both solo and ensemble pianist. Additionally, he currently teaches classical and jazz piano.
