Learn about Chinese cooking and culture by preparing a meal with Woburn newcomers Jia Jiao and Xin ling Li. Over the course of the evening, you will have the chance to prepare a meal typical of a Chinese kitchen while at the same time learning about the culture in an intimate, comfortable setting.

About the cooks:

Jia Jiao and Xi ling Li are both students at the YMCA International Learning Center. Jia comes from Northern China, when she was younger, she worked first making and repairing watches and then in the garment industry. She moved to the United States 5 years ago with her husband and two young sons, ages 7 and 9. Jia loves to cook traditional Chinese dishes for her family.

 Xin ling grew up in Beijing and moved to the United States 13 years ago. She was an accountant in China but decided to become a masseuse here in the United States. She loves to cook when she has the time. Both Jia and Xi ling are excited to share their traditional cuisine and culture with the Supper Club. 

This supper club will be limited to 14 attendees. 

Adults only. 

We are unable to make accommodations for food allergies at this time.

In partnership with the Woburn Public Library, Social Capital Inc., the YMCA International Learning Center, and the James L. McKeown Boys and Girls Club of Woburn.

This project is funded through CHNA 15 DoN funds from Lahey Hospital and Medical Center and Winchester Hospital.
