Comics 4 Culture - Storytelling Workshop for Tweens

Saturday, November 52:00—3:00 PMMaker SpaceIn Person at Woburn Public Library45 Pleasant St., Woburn, MA, 01801

All too often comics have been labeled as low-brow reading. However, comics have a profound impact on society and culture through their artistic and free-flowing expression. High school senior, Eric Bao, created Comics 4 Culture to educate elementary and middle schoolers about the impact of comics and the creation of comics, as well as act as a platform to diversify the perspectives we see in comics through the sharing of students' creations and the sharing of existing comics.

Join us for a fun, creative workshop introducing the joy and fun of reading comics, understanding the power comics have to tell impactful stories, and empowering students to tell their own stories, whether personal or cultural, through comics.

This event is for students ages 9-13.
