Hi! You have reached the LONGTIME RESIDENT REGISTRATION PAGE.

The goal of #WoburnUnites Through Cultural Connections project is to build ties between Woburn’s longtime residents and the newer immigrant community using food and conversation as a basis for people to learn about the different cultures represented throughout the community. To encourage cross-cultural learning and to welcome newcomers, there will be 30 seats available to recent immigrants and other newcomers (contact Elaine Dougherty at the International Learning Center | 781-935-6499 | edougherty@ymcaboston.org to register) and 30 seats to residents of Woburn who have been here longer. Attendees will sit at tables arranged to ensure they have a chance to talk to people they don’t know. Dinner will be provided by local caterers and restaurants to reflect a variety of ethnic foods.
This is a FREE event.

Please note: we are unable to make accommodations for food allergies at this time.

We mentioned that this was a project.  This Cultural Connections Dinner is the penultimate event. Keep an eye out for our final supper club on May 30th. This Supper Club (the last of three) will continue to bring together longtime residents of Woburn and those who consider themselves newcomers in efforts of promoting learning and the creation of cross cultural connections locally. Each Supper Club focuses on a particular ethnic cuisine, drawing upon cultures that are represented in Woburn. Guests have an opportunity to help prepare parts of the meal as a way to learn more about the culture.

Be sure not to miss the registration period for these unique events! There will be limited space. Better your chances of reserving a spot by keeping up-to-date with annoucements!  You can subscribe to the WPL Newsletter, or follow us on Facebook and Twitter.

Presented by The YMCA International Learning Center, Social Capital Inc., and the Woburn Public Library.
